With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ted Richard Harris of Hendersonville, North Carolina, born in Kingsport, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 27, 2024 at the age of 64. He was predeceased by: his mother Shirley Harris; his sister Cynthia Hope "Cindy" Pettigrew; his aunt Linda Lou Harris; and his grandparents, Horton, Lucy Honeycutt Starnes, Ted and Lula Harris.
He is survived by: his father Rev. Richard Harris of Kingsport, TN; his wife Elizabeth Harris (Wilson); his daughters, Haley A. Parent of Hendersonville and Emily F. Harris of Asheville, NC; the mother of his children Linda Williams Harris of Hendersonville; his sister Joy Suzanne "Suzie" Hunter (Jeff) of Knoxville, TN; his granddaughter Sullivan V. Parent; his nieces, Lindsay Pettigrew Zenelis (George), Dr. Avery Pettigrew Staples (Bobby) and Olivia Calloway Larkins (Matt); his great-niece Alexandra Zenelis; his great-nephew John Zenelis; and his brother-in-law Dr. Andrew Pettigrew of Chantilly, VA..
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel (538 Tracy Grove Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792).
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that. Memorial donations be made to the Friends of Henderson County Public Library (https://www.tmcfunding.com) in honor of Ted R. Harris.
