He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Houk and Edna Houk. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Corn Houk; his children, Scott and Kim (Chris Coker); his brother Harold (Fran); his cousin Pat Knowles (Whit); his grandchildren, Drew, Eliza, Nataly, Kayla and Daniel; and his great grandchild Chance.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Hendersonville Baptist Church, 1010 Shepherd St., Hendersonville, NC 28792.
