He is survived by : his children, Stephen David Shaffer (Laura) of White Sulphur, Daniel Lee Shaffer if Tallahassee FL, Suzanne Lynette Shaffer of Mooresville NC and David Paul Shaffer and his wife Megan of Horse Shoe NC. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 7 nieces and 4 nephews.
