He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Simington Brookshire and Ruby Brown Brookshire; and his son Carl Brookshire. He is survived by: his wife Betty Kay; his children, Robyn Brookshire of Hendersonville, Beth Manuel (Luke) of Fletcher, Kevin Brookshire (Christine) of Chesapeake, VA and Robert Brookshire (Marli) of Waxhaw, NC; his grandchildren, Truitt, Sawyer Manuel, Ruby, Henry Brookshire, Jaden Evans, Willa and Violet Brookshire; and his sister Barbara Dempsey of Wilmington, NC..
