He was predeceased by: his parents, Chesley Mathis and Jennie Melvina Hylton (Stuart). He is survived by: his brothers, Jimmy Sorrells and James Mathis; his stepson Marvin Taylor; his wife Gail Ann Taylor; his daughters, Danella Charmane Carroll (Bobby Arnold) of Winchester, VA, Barbara Ann Imes (Warren Imes) of Gore, VA and Christine Marie Taylor (Scott); his stepchildren, Michelle Taylor of Milledgeville, GA and Mark McCoy Taylor of Hendersonville, NC; and his brothers, Tony McCoy Taylor of Candler, NC and Calvin Hylton of Asheville, NC.. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
