He was predeceased by: his grandparents, George Russell Jones, Minnie Bell Penland, Clyde Plemmons and Rubye Plemmons; his uncles, William "Bill" Putnam and Gary Holcombe; and his stepparents, Jerry Lee Sexton and Gwenda Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Kimberly; his parents, George Russell Jones, Jr. and Phyllis Ann Sexton; his son Gregory Tyler Jones; his siblings, Keith Jones and Erica Blankenship (Justin Hunsinger); his aunts, Teresa Putnam (Dean Whitson) and Karen Plemmons; his nieces, Ashley Meadows (Justin), Makenzy Jones and Holly Hunsinger; his nephew Jordan Blankenship; his great-nephew Sawyer Meadows; his parents-in-law, Steve and Kathy Cairnes; and his sister-in-law Sabrina Cairnes. He is also survived by many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
