He was predeceased by: his father George Lambert Murphy Sr.; his wife Norma Blythe Murphy; his son David Wayne Murphy; and his siblings, Sidney "Bud" Murphy, Charles Murphy, Walt Murphy, Fannie Sue Ball, Nancy Davis, Christine McClure, Peggy Griffin and Ethel Rhodes.
He is survived by: his children, Judy Brittain and Glen Ray Murphy; his grandchildren, Rebecca Heatherly (Chad) and Lindsay McCraw (Adam); his great grandchildren, Hannah Cole (Clay), Savannah, Haley, Kaitlyn, Madison, Calla, Jaxson, Creed and Mace; his great great grandchild Rosalie Cole; and his siblings, Paul Murphy (Jewell), Jimmy Murphy, Roy Murphy (Sheila) and Mary Metcalf (Jimmy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
