He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorenzo Owen and Frances "Viola" Owen of Transylvania County; his former wife Janice Owen; his son David Owen; and his siblings, Betty Jean Lail, Mildred Ann Owen, Jerry David Owen and Charles Lee Owen.
He is survived by: his wife Vanessa; his sister Shelby Jean Lester; and his close friend Murphy. He is also survived by two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
