She was predeceased by: her parents, Terrell Stepp and Belle Bishop Stepp; her husband Dr. Martin Bokirk; her daughter Karen Johnson; and her siblings, Glover, Theodore Stepp, Zella Harlow, Pauline Bevilaqua, Wilma Garnes and Marie Stepp.
She is survived by: her daughter Krysten Bernard (Tom); her grandchildren, Katie Monroe and Alistair Bernard; and her siblings, Paul Stepp of Columbia, SC, David Stepp of Charlotte, Berthalou Brewer of Bethany, OK, Ann Stroup, Geraldine Wyatt, Agnes Grasty and Barbara Redmond of Hendersonville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
