He was predeceased by: his grandson Lucas Barnes; his sister Donna Penland; and his stepparents, Braskey Ray and Kathy Barnes. He is survived by: his parents, Marie Ray of Weaverville, NC and Danny Barnes of Hendersonville, NC.; his wife Patricia Metcalf Barnes; his sons, Christopher Barnes (Rebecca) of Nolensville, TN and Dustin Barnes (Shelley) of Pelzer, SC; his grandchildren, Alex, Aidan Barnes of Nolensville, TN and Taylor Barnes of Pelzer, SC.; his siblings, Dana Barnes (Aundrea) of Mooresboro, NC and Ginger Marstellar (Mike) of Flat Rock, NC; and his sisters-in-law, Collen Bishop (Bill) of Etowah, NC and Joan Hedge (David) of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would kindly request that in lieu of flowers any memorial contributions be sent to the Forest City Church of the Nazarene.
