He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie Mae Wright Robertson and William Edgar Robertson Sr.; and his siblings, Jessie Mae Robertson Burnette, Mildred Robertson Hicks and James Melvin "Jimmy" Robertson.

He is survived by: his son John William Robertson (Elizabeth); and his grandchildren, John William Robertson Jr. of Richmond, VA, Susannah Clark Robertson of Richmond, VA and Webb Thompson Robertson of Richmond, VA.
