He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Wynn Buchanan and Nathaniel Owen Buchanan; and his sisters, Rachel Breedlove and Hazel B. Ayscue. He is survived by: his wife Gracie Watson Buchanan; his children, Christy L. Buchanan, Nathaniel Thomas Buchanan Jr. and Allan Dale Buchanan; his granddaughters, Sierra Yount Lewis (Paul) and Miranda Yount; and his great grandchild Abigail Lewis.
