He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Thornton and Beulah Thorpe Thornton; his wife Mary Elizabeth Thornton; and his siblings, Nathaniel Thornton, John Thornton, Flossie T. Bass, Hallie T. Allen and Esther Terry.
He is survived by: his children, Esther Estes of Henderson, Doris Harris of Henderson, Evangelist Mary Overby (James) of Henderson, Silas Harris, Jr. of Henderson and Willi Mack Harris (Shekeyria) of Brunswick, Georgia.; his adoptive daughter Patricia Cooper (Anthony) of Warrenton; his siblings, Estelle Puryear (David), Geneva Harris and William Thornton (Shelia); and his aunts, Ruby Thornton of Oxford and Gracie Thornton of Oxford. He is also survived by grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
