With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katherine Hedgepeth Hughes of Henderson, North Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2025 at the age of 70. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Katherine Hedgepeth Hughes to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clair Hedgepeth and Nellie Hedgepeth; and her husband Dwight Steven "Steve" Hughes. She is survived by: her daughters, Katie Pickler (Matt) of Concord and Kelly Lutz (Chris) of Wake Forest; her grandchildren, Greyson, Hudson Pickler and Luca Lutz; and her siblings, Beverly Kennedy and Gerry Hedgepeth (Kimberly) of Henderson. She is also survived by her nieces, nephew, great-nieces, and great-nephew.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (114 Church St, Henderson, NC 27536). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church.
