With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Orr Sr. of Henderson, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 6, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Andrew Orr and Carrie Lee Robinson Orr; and his siblings, Bessie Orr Baggett, Helen Marie Orr, Henry Andrew Orr Jr., Travis Newton Orr and Gerald Ray Orr.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Carter Orr; his sons, James Melvin Orr Jr. (Tonia) and Bobby Wayne Orr; his grandsons, Jamie Dakota Orr (Taylor) and Taylor Firtick (Ryan); and his sisters, Margaret Orr Snead, Phyllis Orr Wingo (Sparky), Elizabeth Orr Thomas and Peggy Orr Stokes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sossamon Funeral Home (1833 Oxford Rd, Henderson, NC 27536). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at the Sunset Gardens (3174 Highway 158 Business, Henderson, NC 27536).
