He is survived by: his wife Diane Pierce Abbott; his children, Debra Abbott Williamson (Mike) of Henderson, Karen Abbott Dingus (Shane) of Tennessee, Michelle Baldwin McMurray (Greg) of Henderson, Stephen Alston Abbott (Ruth) of Gastonia, Robert Anthony Abbott (Frances) of Raleigh and Kenneth Wayne Abbott of Henderson; his former wife Marjorie Abbott Sullivan of Oxford; and his daughter-in-law JoAnn Abbott of Atlanta. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter.
