She was predeceased by: her parents, Christel Schauties Hartel and Alfred Hartel; and her sister Heide-Marie Downs. She is survived by: her husband Winston Richmond "Rich" Harriss; her daughter Susan Collins (Joe) of Clemmons, NC; her grandchildren, Jessica Powers (James), Christopher Collins (Natalie) and Julia Grace Collins; her great grandchild Catherine; and her siblings-in-law, John Mitchell Harriss (Roberta) of Harlem, GA and Phyllis Miller of Decatur, GA. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made the First United Methodist Church, 114 Church St. Henderson NC 27536.
