With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Anthony Norwood of Henderson, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 14, 2024 at the age of 72. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jane Elizabeth O'Brien Norwood and George Herbert Norwood. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Overton Norwood; his daughters, Nora Lynne Norwood Hardenberger (Shane) and Stephanie Bartlett Norwood Stokes (Jason); his grandchildren, Brody Cole Stokes and Emery Kate Stokes; his stepgrandson Kollan Michael Hardenberger; his siblings, Katherine Lynne Williams (Kenny) and Danny Joe Norwood (Angie); and his pet Murphy.
