She was predeceased by: her parents, Thales Thomas Robbins and Ruth Bateman Robbins; her husband James Walter "J. W." Smithwick; and her siblings, Willa R. Taylor and John Garner Robbins.
She is survived by: her children, Mary S. Weatherington (Brad), Liz S. Stover (Mark) and John Thomas Smithwick; her brothers, James Herman Robbins and Thales Carlton Robbins; and her grandsons, David Weatherington (Katherine), Michael Smithwick (Tessa), Jason Smithwick (Kalayna), Andrew Stover (Sheila) and Adam Weatherington (Rose). She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the North Henderson Baptist Church (1211 N Garnett St, Henderson, NC 27536). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at the Brown's Baptist Church (2197 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Norlina, NC 27563).
