He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Southerland and Rebecca Jones Southerland. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hayes Southerland; his children, Shanda Holden and Yolanda Bullock; and his siblings, Mavis Bradley, Rebecca Southerland, Willie Southerland and Robert Alston. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Davis-Royster Funeral Service, Inc. (926 S Garnett St, Henderson, NC 27536). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Jordan Chapel (1926 Alert Rd, Warrenton, NC 27589).
