He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Clement Rivers and Annie Cleaton Rivers; his son Richie Rivers; and his siblings, Kenneth Rivers and Grace Williamson.
He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Darrell Townsend (Sherry) and Dottie Miller (Ray); his nephew Danny Mangum (Leslie); his close friend Randy Newman; and his nieces and nephews, Linda Roberson, Judy Starnes, Debbie Rivers, Curtis Williamson and Kenny Rivers.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Sossamon Funeral Home of Henderson (1833 Oxford Rd, Henderson, NC 27536).
