With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leonard Carl Mayfield (Hayesville, North Carolina), born in Townley, Alabama, who passed away on October 26, 2019 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewitt Talmadge and Ethel Sparks Mayfield; his daughter Loretta Jean Mayfield; and his siblings, Alene Phillips, Buddy Mayfield, Louise Smart and Barbara Ivey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gwen Bowers (Travis) of Destin, FL and Kay Cox Elum (Max); his siblings, Paul Mayfield (Shirley) and LaFonda King; his grandchildren, Tonya Lightner (Johnny), Bridgette Dennis (Joel) and Justin Cox (Caitlin); his great grandchildren, Erica Beck, Brett Dennis (Casey), Savannah Porter Victoria Mitchell (Kolton) and Emma Cox; his great great grandchildren, Seraphim Beck, Sawyer Dennis, Kyleigh Grace Porter, Thatcher Dennis, John Luke Mitchell and Kynlee Reese Porter; and his nieces, Debbie Phillips and Mary Matheson.
