Joy Johnson-Jakelis Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joy Johnson-Jakelis (Hayesville, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 30, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Joy had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Joy may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She is survived by: her husband Ronald "Ron" Jakelis; her children, Stephen, Ken, Greg Solloway and Hilary Johnson; and her stepchildren, Kelley, Todd, Rix and Kerri Jakelis. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Moss Memorial Baptist Church (5188 Tusquittee Rd, Hayesville, NC 28904).
