He was predeceased by: his son Robert Gerald; his parents, Zollie Shelton and Edna Shelton of Lake Toxaway; and his siblings, Mable Owens, Madge York, June Shelton, Veda Vee Shelton, Faye Osteen, Grady Shelton, J. D. Shelton, Ted Shelton and Leon Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Shelton of Hayesville; his son Rev. Charles E. Shelton (Denise Shelton) of Hayesville; his granddaughter Hon; his great grandchildren, Mallory, Matthew Peck of Hayesville, Jackson, Garrett Sellers of Hayesville, Riley, Lyra and Everly Gacchina of Petersburg, Alaska.; his sister Nell Norton; and his sister-in-law Wanda Shelton of Lake Toxaway. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
