With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eugene Joseph Ponkauskas (Hayesville, North Carolina), born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on July 6, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ponkauskas and Lucille Schwab Ponkauskas; and his brother Mike Ponkauskas. He is survived by: his wife Myrna; his daughters, Melissa Ruille (Joseph) of Hemet and Cindy Martinez of Corona, California; and his siblings, Rosemary, Genny, Beverly, Stella, Pamela, Joanne and Richard. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Gene Ponkauskas to any local animal rescue organization.
