He was predeceased by: his father Melvin E Whitfield; and his brother-in-law Ronald O. Uthus. He is survived by: his mother Gloria Wilson Whitfield of Homeplace, Burlington; his siblings, Sandra Whitfield Uthus of Vienna, VA and Greg Whitfield Greensboro (Terry); his nephews, Jackson Whitfield, Harrison Whitfield and Raleigh; and also, Debra U. Yared, Ronald O. Uthus, Jr. and Laura A O'Brien.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alamance Humane Society or the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
