He was predeceased by: his parents, William Richards and Virginia Bell Richards. He is survived by: his spouse Joanie Richards; his son Phillip Lang Richards, Jr.; and his brothers, Mike Richards of Salisbury, NC and Danny Richards of Youngsville, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Graham, 303 North Main Street, Graham, NC 27253 or to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
