We are sad to announce that on December 5, 2022, at the age of 96, Gloria Ruby Whitfield of Haw River, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Grover Wilson and Alice Ray Wilson; her husband Melvin Whitfield; her son Robert Whitfield; her son-in-law Ron Uthus Sr.; her stepgranddaughter Debra Yared; and her siblings, Jesse Wilson, Glen Wilson, Henry Wilson Jr., Braxton Wilson, Susan McPherson, Mabel McKinney, Margaret Bradley (Louise) and Judy Klontz.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Uthus of Burlington and Greg (Terry Whitfield); her grandsons, Jackson Whitfield of Asheville and Harrison Whitfield (Julia Matthews) of Asheville; and her stepgrandchildren, Ron Uthus Jr. (Cathy) of Snow Camp and Laura O'Brien (Bill) of Atlanta, GA.
