He was predeceased by: his parent Leverta Elizabeth Jones; his grandparents, R. Walter and Hattie C. Jones; and his siblings, Walter L. Jones, Richard Jones (Dickey), Clarice Jones Hornbuckle and Joan Claudette Jones Dunlap.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jones; his siblings, Franky Jones, Sr. (Rita), Carolyn Spivey, Janice Clements and Jannette Jones; his children, Michael Jones, Mitchell Jones, Marty Jones (Mary) and Todd Watkins (Brenda); his grandchildren, Michael Jones, Jr., Sheridan Jones (Brianna), Eric Watkins, Shannon Watkins (Ashley), Rebecca Hunt, Dakota Hunt, Rodney Connor, Tameka Satterfield, Mia Dinkin (Joshua) and Ana Jones; and his great grandchildren, Alexa Hunt, Maverick Watkins and Kai Merritt.

A wake was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bethsada Baptist Church (4338 Mebane Oaks Rd, Mebane, NC 27302). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
