He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Dawson and Mozelle Stout Dawson. He is survived by: his wife Pam Dawson; his daughter Angie Dawson; his brother Carl Dawson (Peggy) of Fort Worth, TX; and his sister-in-law Katherine Clayton (Mike) of Haw River. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
