It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betsy Scott Key (Haw River, North Carolina), born in Alamance, North Carolina, who passed away on August 23, 2022, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Robert "Johnny" Scott and Mable Aleen Jones Scott; her close friend Kaye Gwynn; and her grandchildren, Hayley Shannon and Jodeci Woods.

She is survived by: her significant other James Rufus Woods of Haw River, NC; her brother James Robert Scott (Susan) of Burlington, NC; her sister-in-law Janice Scott of Gibsonville, NC; her niece Sarah Scott of Gibsonville; her nephews, Jesslyn, Jaxson and Weston; her daughter Melissa Key Shannon (William) of Burlington, NC; her grandchildren, Ryan William Shannon and Stephanie Danielle Shannon (Braxton Gattis) of Burlington, NC; her great grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaysen, Jaxson, Skylar and Sophia; her daughter Diana Joyce Key of Burlington, NC; her goddaughter Anastasia Carico (Chasity); her granddaughters, Kayla Gwynn and Brianna Woods of Graham, NC; her great grandchildren, Malaiyah and Autumn; her granddaughter Kaqunna Woods of Graham, NC; her great grandchild Keyson; her grandson Terry Woods (Ykia Coltrane); her great grandchild Kyndall; her grandson Tyriek Woods of Burlington, NC; her great grandchild Jersey; and her grandson Damoris Crittle of Graham, NC.. She is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
