We are sad to announce that on August 1, 2023, at the age of 93, JoAnn Koontz of Havelock, North Carolina, born in Portsmouth, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Lee Koontz, Sr.; her parents-in-law, Claude and Eloise Koontz; her parents, Houston Gober and Virginia Gober; her sister Shirley Pearson; and her brother-in-law James "Buddy" Pearson.
She is survived by: her son Donnie (Connie); her grandchildren, Daniel Koontz (Tamara) and Catherine Almeyda (Gustavo); her great grandchild Raylan Koontz; her close friend Frances Diffee of Havelock; and her caregiver Dee Fulcher. She is also survived by 6 nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to 3HC Home Health & Hospice Care, 150 Techcon Way, Pollocksville, NC 28573.
