It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter F. Howie Jr. of Harrisburg, North Carolina, who passed away on August 24, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Franklin Howie, Sr. and Barbara Elizabeth Hunter Howie; and his brothers, Jeremiah and Parks Howie. He is survived by: his wife Betty Howie; his children, Eric Howie (Barbara), Steve Howie (Julie), Susan Stafford (Howard) and Ann Howell (Bobby); his grandchildren, Daniel Stafford (Karen), Lisa Brady (Greg), John Howie (Laura) and Nina Dashwood; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Molly, Kate, Claire, Caroline and Evelyn. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
