He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Montgomery and Travis Brown; and his sister Dondy Montgomery. He is survived by: his son Daishawn Decosey of Orlando, Florida; his siblings, Phillis Williams of Atlanta, Latira McKay of Columbia and Rachon Montgomery (Tracey) of Charlotte, NC; his aunt Barbara Edwards "Aunt Bob"; his nephew Quentin Montgomery; his nieces, Sekina Montgomery, Al-Nina Montgomery and Justice Graham (Ben); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Isaiah Montgomery, Sha'Kora Miley, Tyler Williams, Avalah Montgomery and Lauren Cooper; his cousins, Winston Wilson (Vanessa), Donna Fant (Randy) and Rene Turay; his friends, Dana Reeves (Silvia), Connie King, Johari Barber and Johnny Moore; and his godson Von Smith. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
