She was predeceased by: her father Reuben Pressley "Preston" Grant; her sisters, Dolleen Fatima Loftis Rape and Patricia Ann Grant Cranford; her brothers-in-law, George Hubert Watts, Billy Myers Rape, Sr., William Harvey Henderson, Jr. and Gary Kenneth Cranford; and her nephew Michael Scott Henderson.
She is survived by: her husband Avery; her children, Ronald Lee Kinney (Carrie Denise Nicholson Kinney) of Supply, NC, Emily Candice Phillips (Michael James Bayes) of Mooresville, NC and Grant Avery Phillips (Ashley Nicole Allen) of Concord, NC; her granddaughters, Charlotte Elizabeth Kinney and Georgia Caroline Kinney of Cullowhee, NC; her daughter Adelaide "Addie" Phillips Bayes of Mooresville; her brother William Thomas "Bill" Loftis; her sister-in-law Annie Nadine Bennett Loftis of Oak Island, NC; and her sisters, Glenda Carole Loftis Watts of Charlotte and Yolanda Gayle Grant Henderson of Charlotte.
