He is survived by: his children, Lindsey Patton of Harrisburg, NC, Melinda Somerville (Terry) of Irmo, SC, John Saunders (Mandy) of Gilbert, SC and Joshua Saunders of Atlanta, GA; his brother James Franklin Saunders (Teresa) of Statesville, NC; his sister-in-law Charlene H. Carpenter (Phil) of Conover, NC; his grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Haley, Hannah, Elle Patton, Jackson, Olivia Somerville, Tate and Tilly Saunders; and his great grandchildren, Rosemary and Ryleigh Faircloth. He is also survived by 4 nieces and 6 nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
