He was predeceased by: his parents, John Axley Gilmer and Ella Porter Gilmer; and his siblings, John Gilmer and Mary Jane Broome. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Berry Gilmer; his daughters, Cindy Gilmer of Seattle, WA and Annie Yount (Rodney) of Catawba, NC; his brother Harry Gilmer (Jackie) of Jackson, MS; and his grandchildren, Jessica Swain (Cameron) and Justin Yount (Rachel). He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
