He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Harrell and Estelle Parker Harrell. He is survived by: his wife Mildred Williams Harrell; his sons, Samuel D. Harrell, Jr. (Edna) of Greenville, NC, Michael Harrell (Stacy) of Houston, TX and Gregory Harrell (Teresa) of Columbia, MD; and his siblings, James "Jimmy" Harrell (Wendy) of Miami, FL, Lois Knight of Gates, NC and Shirley Harrell of Gates, NC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hunter's Funeral Home (123 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Dr N, Ahoskie, NC 27910-7612). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the New Harrellsville Chapel Baptist Church.
