He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenox Dulin Harrelson Sr. and Louise Minsher Harrelson; his sister Martha Williams; and his brother-in-law Darrell Williams. He is survived by: his wife Thea Peterson Harrelson; his brother-in-law William Peterson (Peggy) of Matthews; his nieces and nephews, Marcus Williams of Greensboro, Henry Williams of Newfane, NY, Danielle MacLaughlin (Phillip) of Holly Ridge, Nicole Norris (Thomas) of Charlotte and Emily Peterson of Orlando, FL; his great-nephews, Aiden Williams, Cameron Williams, Charlie MacLaughlin and Caleb Williams; and his great-niece Marlowe Williams.

The family asks that in leu of flowers donations be made to The Bay Tree Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, 12717 NC-41, Harrells, NC 28444.

“I enjoyed “talking” with Lenox via Facebook. I grew up in Elizabethtown and he was about 10 years older than I am so we didn’t interact much back then. I found him to be like-minded in many ways to me, a lover of education, and a kind soul. My brother Kemp recently commented that Lenox was “the best drummer in Elizabethtown” back in the early days of the high school band. I am glad for the time that I had to know Lenox.”
