He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel Dent Sharpe and Margaret Ruth Johnson Sharpe; his wife Freda Johnson of North Wilkesboro; his siblings, J. D. Sharpe, William Thomas Sharpe, James Noel Sharpe and Irene Sharpe Coleman; and his nephew Jeffery Scott Coleman.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Stallings (Todd) of Kinston, Thomas Sharpe (Gary) of Statesville and John Sharpe (Amanda) of Statesville; his grandchildren, Emma, Joshua, Chad and Caroline; his siblings, Polly Sharpe of Harmony, Esther Milan of Harmony, Ramona Roberts (Carl) of Harmony, Joy Baugus (Wendell) of Hamptonville, Sharon Davis (Maxie) of Statesville and Dennis Sharpe (Lesa) of Union Grove; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Coleman and Carolyn Waters Sharpe. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
