It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys Campbell of Harmony, North Carolina, born in Hiddenite, North Carolina, who passed away on November 9, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Osborne Linney and Maltie Smith Linney; her son Jimmy Campbell; her granddaughter Tiffany Lightsey; her siblings, Lois Alexander, Lessie Miller, Faye Pemberton, Ruby Pratt, Mildred Linney, Clemont Linney, Fred Linney and Jimmy Linney; and her spouse Thurby L. Campbell of Harmony.
She is survived by: her sons, Donnie Campbell (Sharon) of Indian Trail, Anthony Campbell of Charlotte, Rev. Warren "Chuck" Campbell of Statesville and Kevin Campbell (Michelle) of Orlando, FL; her grandchildren, Keisha Campbell, Donnie Campbell Jr. (Nickie), Ashley Campbell, Tony Lightsey, Charles Campbell, Shenitra Turner (Raymond), Travis Campbell (Paula), Antoinette Cornelius, Chase Campbell and Brooke Campbell; her sister Purney Gray of Statesville; and her siblings-in-law, Eva Campbell of Harmony and Robert Campbell (Yvonne) of Cambridge Heights, NY. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives.
Her contribution to her community was evident through her donations to the Fire Department, Yoke Fellow, 5th Street Ministries and other organizations.
