He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillis Glenn Gentry and Flora Whitlock Gentry; and his brother James Gentry (Jimmy). He is survived by: his wife Linda Martin Gentry; his children, Tanya Gentry and Robert Gentry (Teresa); and his sister Rebecca (Becky).

Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 243 N. Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
