She was predeceased by: her parents, Robie Salter and Inez Salter; her siblings, William Lane Salter, Elizabeth Salter and Dorothy Salter Hargett (Belinda Salter Guthrie); and her grandson Charlie Guthrie.
She is survived by: her sons, Dean Guthrie (Carol), Randy Guthrie (Lisa) and Doug Guthrie Jr. (Christine); her grandchildren, Heidi Guthrie Driver (Johnnie), Jordan Guthrie, Sarah Guthrie Vowell (Andrew), Katie Guthrie, Parker Guthrie and Evan Guthrie; and her great grandchildren, Leah Driver, Kayla Driver and Levi Vowell.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Vergie Mae Cemetery (603 Cape Lookout Dr, Harkers Island, NC 28531).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating in Leota's honor to SECU Family House, 123 Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
