He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ward and Nell Ward; his wife Judith Martin Ward; and his brother Walter A. Ward, Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, Dr. George Thomas Ward Jr. (Scarlett) of Harkers Island and James Martin Ward (Christina) of Cary; his grandchildren, Calvin Ward, Jillian Ward and Zander Ward; his stepgrandson Gage Willis; his niece Karen Ward-Kaplan; and also, Karen and Judy.
