She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Whitt and Ossie Whitt; and her sister Helen Turner of Burlington. She is survived by: her significant other James Allen "Jimmie" Chappell; her children, Dawn Pickett of Harkers Island and Jerry Chappell (Cathy) of Burlington; her grandchildren, Anita Mummert (Ken) of Wake Forest, Josh Chappell (Kelly) of Burlington, Clint Chappell (Alexandra) of Burlington and Sam Pickett (Cecily) of Beaufort; and her niece Nancy Watson of Muncie, IN. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
