He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Guthrie and Bertha Guthrie; his siblings, Barbara Adkins, Jenny Russell, Garland Guthrie and Larry Lee Guthrie; and his grandson Charlie Guthrie.
He is survived by: his wife Leota Salter Guthrie; his sons, Dean Guthrie (Carol) of Harkers Island, Randy Guthrie (Lisa) of Harkers Island and Doug Guthrie Jr. (Christine) of Otway; his brothers, Frank Guthrie (Peggy) of Harkers Island and Mitchell Guthrie (Linda) of Newport; his grandchildren, Heidi Driver (Johnnie), Jordan Guthrie, Sarah Vowell (Andrew), Katie Guthrie, Parker Guthrie and Evan Guthrie; and his great grandchildren, Leah Driver, Kayla Driver and Levi Vowell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
