He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lewis and Helen Lewis; his wife Barbara Ann McGowan Lewis of Vanceboro; and his siblings, Ethel Fay Gillikin, Sharon Kay Guthrie and John Lewis of Harkers Island.
He is survived by: his daughters, Evangeline Joy Lewis of Morehead City, Belinda House (Richard) of Otway and Dena Lewis (Robert) of Otway; his grandchildren, Daniel Cook, Monica Hernandez (Arthur), Breanna House, Arianna Rodda (Colin), Christina House, David Gill, Rebecca Gill, Private Stephen Gill and Jacob Gill; and his great grandchildren, Joshua Hernandez and Ilianna Hernandez.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome, or donations may be made to Grace Holiness Church or the Salvation Army.
