We bid farewell to Benjamin Brooks Sr. of Harkers Island, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 15, 2025 at the age of 84. Benjamin touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Brooks and Isabell Lewis Brooks; his niece Eva Brooks Chappell; and his in-laws, John Robert Valentine and Esther Brown Valentine.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Anne Valentine Brooks of Harkers Island; his children, Benjamin "Rusty" Lee Brooks Jr. of Harkers Island and Ellen Brooks Gillikin (Richard) of Harkers Island; his granddaughter Hannah Marie Gillikin of Harkers Island; his daughter Rebecca Brooks Davis (Stacy III) of Morehead City; his grandson Bennie Russell Brooks of Harkers Island; his great grandchild Luke Morris Gillikin of Harkers Island; and his brother Charles "Red" Malcom Brooks (Marena "Collo") of Harkers Island. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Vergie Mae Cemetery.
