He is survived by: his wife Judy Matthews Simcox; his daughter Michelle Brooks (Gene); his granddaughter MyKenna Brooks; his siblings, Wanda Martin (Donnie), Lynn Newman (Mark) and Dale Hatcher (Shirley); and his sisters-in-law, Lula Wooten (Jim) and Sue Cates. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to A Light in the Darkness Outreach Ministry PO Box 118 Union Grove, NC 28689 in honor of his special granddaughter MyKenna Brooks who was the light of his life.
