It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joann Mathis Brown of Hamptonville, North Carolina, who passed away on August 12, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland Mathis and Vertie Macy Mathis; her husband Roby Brown; and her siblings, Tony Mathis, Rose Collins and Elizabeth Groce.
She is survived by: her children, Derry Brown (Donna) and Julie Moxley (Robert); her grandchildren, Rhett Brown, Hannah Neal (Loren), Trevor Moxley and Abby Moxley; her great grandchild Ryder Neal; her brothers, James "Potsy" Mathis (Dorry) and Rex Mathis; her siblings-in-law, Brenda Mathis, Ditty Mathis, Larry Collins and Rev. Roger Groce; and her close friends, Joan, Rex Oliver, Johnsie, Russell Nixon and Lola Hutchens. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In regard to the recent COVID 19 epidemic, the family requests all in attendance please wear a face covering for safety purposes.
